Watch for an initiative soon from the Independent Musicians Alliance (the IMA) to help those musicians who really have always made their living on their gig income, which has now evaporated. We’re thinking that Musicians Without Masters Degrees (MWMD) have a lot to offer and are going to ask you to subscribe to a series of talks with some deep noodling on aspects of jazz biz & theirstory that you wouldn’t find anywhere else–with proceeds from your largesse going to line pockets where lint might otherwise be the only thing extant just now! No cut to the IMA, the JitN or the BBCLP, just cash in the pockets of those who have the knowledge to share and the need for bread!
