Kai Lyons, guitar
Jaimeo Brown, drums
Hans Glawischnig, bass
If you don’t know who Kai Lyons is or what a terrific jazz guitarist he is, you should. You should come to the show! No live stream can ever be as good as the real thing.
Kai is a homegrown San Francisco talent of epic proportions. No kidding.
Jaimeo Brown is news to us. We’ll take it on faith from Kai that he’ll be an asset to the trio. We’ll learn at the show. Always something new when you venture out!
Oh, a little research… Jaimeo is the son of bassist Dartanyan Brown and saxophonist Marcia Miget! Two formidable talents giving life to another! In the early years of the store, Dartanyan made a couple of stops here out of New College, with the poet (and jazz devotee) David Meltzer. He made a great impression on us. We notice that he opens our weekly emails once in awhile. Marcia played on our stage just a few months ago in the trio of Charles Thomas. Hey Marcia, hey Dartanyan! Thanks for raising this here drummer! Jaimeo, welcome to the West Coast. He’s come out from New York, with a family in tow, including two growing daughters. Major career heretofore: read more here!
Hans Glawischnig? A major, major bassist who’s been glimpsed and heard just a couple of times at Bird & Beckett. He’s a musician that we’re lucky to have in the Bay Area, as his huge talent on bass and his sterling reputation for it lies in the international realm. A little research reveals that… here, read for yourself, from his bio on his site…
This will be a great date. Come down to the shop with a twenty. Maybe even another five or ten for the tip jar. And bring something to sip, if you’re so inclined. A mask if you’re rightfully conservative in these Covidian times.
Yes, it’s live streamed. Most everything we do is. It’s not the same as hearing musicians perform live. Come out if you can.
