Options Recovery Services

Arts for More and Bird & Beckett present an intimate evening of poetry and music with acclaimed writer Kim Addonizio, joined by accomplished jazz and blues guitarist Danny Caron and bassist Peter Barshay.
This special WORDPlay performance is a benefit for Options Recovery Services – Addiction Recovery in the Bay Area — supporting programs and organizations that provide critical resources, healing spaces, and second chances for individuals and families navigating recovery.
Addiction touches nearly every community. Recovery is not a straight line. And art has long been a companion in that journey — a place to process, to feel, to remember who you are.
Your presence helps strengthen recovery networks across the Bay Area and reminds us that healing happens in the community.
Kim Addonizio is the author of more than twelve books, most recently Exit Opera (W.W. Norton). She is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. Her collection Tell Me was a finalist for the National Book Award.
Danny Caron has worked with musical luminaries including blues legend Charles Brown, Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker, and many others. He has appeared on two Grammy Award–winning albums and most recently performed on Taj Mahal’s Savoy and Maria Muldaur’s One Hour Mama: The Blues of Victoria Spivey.
Peter Barshay is a respected Bay Area bassist known for his deep groove, lyrical sensitivity, and wide-ranging collaborations across jazz, blues, and beyond.
