Independent reporter Denise Sullivan brings the SF Lives series to Bird & Beckett for a Sunday morning livestream. This month’s guest is Dr. Saidah Leatutufu-Burch. We expect a wide-ranging discussion on the legacy of local Black history, community organizing, economic justice and the November San Francisco ballot.
Dr. Sai (Sy) is a Black and Sāmoan San Franciscan, organizer, cultural orator, economic mobility strategist, and liberationist. She is the Founder of Economic Emancipation LLC. and SLB Strategies—a social impact-focused consulting firm committed to equipping organizations with the tools and strategies necessary to drive sustainable change and achieve bold impact. Her work is guided by a core belief: “Liberate with love. Transform with power.”
The SFLives Project, a series of candid conversations with San Francisco’s artists, activists and free thinkers, was conceived as a print media column by Denise Sullivan for the San Francisco Examiner where it ran from 2018-2022, then transitioned into a live-streamed conversation, produced by Jenna Littlejohn, for Bird & Beckett.
