August 9th, 7:30pm: Kay Kostopoulos album release party, featuring multi-instrumentalist Noel Jewkes; John DiMartino, piano and arrangements; Carla Kaufman, bass; Mark Lee, drums. $25 cover charge / byob. For a reservation, call the bookshop at 415-586-3733.

Kay and her accompanists will share some tunes from her new album “All This Is Possible.” 15-year musical partners, Kay and Noel always enjoy the intimacy of Bird & Beckett, where heartfelt lyrics wed with Dr. Legato’s gorgeous tone and resonate in the bookshop’s beautiful acoustic space.

The album has received stunning reviews… A recording of depth, subtlety, and artistic uniqueness…a top-tier vocalist of significant versatility and honesty…A graceful and deeply personal recording that reflects both her lifelong devotion to jazz and the Mediterranean influences that have become her signature artistic voice.

Kay will also explore excerpts from Homer’s Odyssey, and jazz songs featuring legendary women including Delilah, Circe, Cleopatra and Persephone.
