Poet Leslie Simon – “Everything Appeared That Night” and Composer Wendy Loomis -“Gaudi’s Curves”

September 26 @ 5:30 pm
Free, donations welcome

Leslie Simon is a labor and progressive activist hero, and established CCSF’s Poetry for the People class, which continues to this day. She has brought countless students into creative communion with progressive ideals.  Bottlecap Press recently published Leslie Simon’s chapbook “Everything Appeared That Night. For the evening, she’ll bundle copies of the chapbook with old copies of High Desire from Wingbow and sell each bundle for $10 with the entire amount from each purchase going to Bird and Beckett.

Wendy Loomis, prolific composer and poet, a co-founder of COPUS and Inner Sky and former member of Phoenix Rising, will accompany Leslie’s reading and will play from her suite of music “Gaudi’s Curves.”

As a coda, Leslie will read from “Jazz/ is for white girls, too” with Wendy accompanying on piano, from their recording/cd “Piano and Friends.”
