In 2017 and 2018, Julian was deemed a YoungArts winner, and was flown out to the 2017 YoungArts Regional in Miami, Florida. It all started in late 2002 when neighborhood jazz veteran Chuck Peterson enlisted friends and fellow musicians to play jazz in the bookshop every Friday after work.  Never a missed Friday since then! The musicians in the 230 Jones Street band, colleagues of Chuck from way back, carry the torch!

Scott Foster invites master percussionist John Santos and an all-star roster of musicians to join him for an exploration and celebration of the musical crossroads of Caribbean rhythms and American jazz. Adam Gay, bass, leads a quartet featuring Bob Kenmotsu on tenor saxophone, Ben Stolorow on piano and Peppe Merolla on drums. Adam moved to Brooklyn a month or two ago, what a loss…  their gain!  But he’s back for a minute and that’s our gain.
