Nora Stanley is a New York-based, San Francisco-native saxophonist and composer whose interests and work live at the intersection of composed and improvised music. Nora holds a B.A. and B.M. from Oberlin College and Conservatory where she studied with Gary Bartz, Eddie Henderson and Billy Hart. With strong roots in the jazz, afro-cuban and improvised music traditions, Nora’s music emphasizes interaction and collaboration. Her sound is melody-driven and reaches to expand the possibilities of the harmonic realm. Nora leads a quartet featuring her original compositions and co-leads a duo project with keyboardist Benny Bock, exploring sounds both acoustic and electric. The duo is slated to release their debut record on Colorfield Records in 2022. Nora has performed alongside Dayna Stephens, Ambrose Akinmusire and Chucho Valdes and has appeared at major venues including the Monterey Jazz Festival. In line with her deep interest in other cultures and their music, Nora has studied and performed internationally in Spain, Cuba and Brazil.

Noah Gershwin is a guitarist and composer currently residing in New York City. As an active performer, Noah explores pushing the boundaries of free improvisation within the confines of the jazz idiom. Since moving to NYC, Noah has performed in venues such as The Stone and Bar Bayuex and has collaborated with artists such as Okkyung Lee, Billy Hart and Ben Street. Noah has had the privilege to perform both nationally and internationally at festivals such as the Iowa City Jazz Festival and The Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music. With his collaborative jazz quartet, Junior Ranger, Noah had the opportunity to participate in the Avaloch Farm Music Institute as well as tour in the Netherlands as a result of being awarded the CIGSIE Grant for Study in Dutch Improvisation. A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Noah was fortunate to study with Bobby Ferrazza, Gary Bartz, Billy Hart, Robin Eubanks, Jay Ashby, Jamey Haddad and Paul Samuels. Hailing from Philadelphia, Noah got his start performing and later teaching at institutions such as The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts, West Oak Lane Jazz Festival, and Summer Jazz Academy at Solebury School; studying with legendary guitarist Steve Giordano and under Mr. Lovett Hines.

Mia Pixley, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and artist who uses her cello, voice, and music performance to study and represent aspects of self and other, community, and the natural world. Whimsical and melancholic, Mia’s music gravitates toward the beauty hidden in sorrow, pain, and loss and this beauty’s potential to inspire curiosity, wonder, rebirth, and reconnection to ourselves, each other, and the natural world. Mia has a professional studies diploma in cello performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music (Class of ‘18). She has performed on GRAMMY award winning albums and award winning off-Broadway musicals. She tours regularly with Windham Hill Winter Solstice Tour and collaborates with artists both in the SF Bay Area and NYC. Mia lives in the California Bay Area with her husband and their young son. She cares about community, interconnectivity, and nature. Mia released her first full length album titled “Margaret in the Wild” this July (2021) and a poem and music call and response, Passage (April 2022).
