But nothing beats being in the room with the music & the musicians!

You don’t need a passport this weekend to get to Glen Park for jazz, Hindustani & Carnatic music, and Americana!

Apply for your jazz passport this month on a visit to any one of four great San Francisco jazz clubs — Keys, Tipples, Black Cat or Dawn Club and patronize those wonderful joints! We wish them all great success, and we want their help keeping San Francisco jazzy and literary!

You won’t need a passport to pay a visit to Bird & Beckett, the best cozy little listening room in town, heavy in jazz and ranging freely afield week after week after week. We’ve offered steady programming for 21 years and counting — and a twenty will be plenty to get you a wonderful couple of hours of music, with the books in all their profuse glory for your browsing & buying! Bring something to sip, bring your kids, bring your friends!

We’re counting on you to come on in and to proselytize to your friends, relations & airbnb guests. We’ll be here for you as long as you’re here for us, and it’s a hella wonderful place to be! Picture Oakland with more lovely fog!

There’s no border around Bird & Beckett nor Glen Park. Grab Muni or hop on BART. Fly into SFO and take a cab. Whatever floats your boat! Just drift down Islais Creek from Twin Peaks to the sweetest little spot at the bottom of Glen Canyon. Sail up from the Bayview! Use GPS if ya need to!

The dynamite factory is long gone, but we’re still here. We’re staying put ’til the music dries up and blows away and the books crumble to dust. Guess that means we’re here for good. Doing good making you feel good.

Thanks to all of you who buy books & come out to hear the music. It takes revenues to meet the rent, and the revenues have been pretty weak for the past several months. It gets a little scary sometimes. Often, actually! Most of the neighborhood businesses will tell you a similar tale. We all need your intentional support!

If you haven’t been by in awhile, please do what you can to help us get some momentum going into the fall and winter months, and keep Glen Park alive & thriving. You’re the best!

The Bird & Beckett Cultural Legacy Project

The Independent Musicians Alliance

Gigging musicians! You have nothing to lose but your lack of a collective voice to achieve fair wages for your work!
