Chuck founded Bird & Beckett’s weekly Friday jazz tradition in late 2002, with Don, Scott and Jimmy quickly becoming the core members of the band, later augmented by reed player and arranger Bill Perkins. To this day, Scott continues to lead a group on the third Friday of each month, and Chuck’s legacy lives as well through the 1st Friday “230 Jones Street, Local 6 Literary Jazz Band.”
