But nothing beats being in the room with the music & the musicians!
Adam Shulman plays two sets of originals and jazz standards from swing to bop to the new thing. He’s been a driving force on the Bay Area jazz scene as ensemble player, soloist, accompanist, composer and bandleader since moving to San Francisco 18 years ago.Â

Prior to his arrival in San Francisco, Adam studied jazz piano with Smith Dobson while earning a degree in classical performance at UC Santa Cruz. Now, he has four albums laden with his own compositions and a fifth on the near horizon, and a long history of work with many of the great players in the music, including local figures Marcus Shelby, Anton Schwartz, Andrew Speight, Erik Jekabson, Ed Reed, Mike Olmos, Gary Brown, Patrick Wolff, John Wiitala, Vince Lateano, Faye Carol, Kellye Gray, Ian Carey, and Mike Zilber, as well as nationally known talents including Stefon Harris, Willie Jones III, Dayna Stephens, Miguel Zenon, Mark Murphy, Alan Harris, Luciana Souza, Larry Coryell, Sean Jones, Grant Stewart, John Clayton, Bobby Hutcherson, Bria Skonberg; he’s done significant time with the Glenn Miller Orchestra along the way, and he’s done extensive arranging, orchestrating and accompanist work for vocalists Paula West and Ed Reed. He’s also a seasonal favorite at SFJAZZ with an annual series of shows built on Vince Guaraldi’s soundtrack to Charles Schulz’s 1965 holiday classic, A Charlie Brown Christmas.
