with whimsy, fire, and mindfulness.
The music created from the pooled experience
of the band’s members is a tasty gumbo of
jazz, free improvisation, ragtime, classical and spoken word.

And remember the residencies: Eric Shifrin on the 2nd Fridays (this year celebrating the composers whose tunes became jazz standards — in February that’ll be Fats Waller and Harry Warren), Scott Foster on the 3rd Fridays with a different formulation each time out, Tony Johnson alternating his quartet and the 230 Jones Street band on the 4th Fridays, the Vince Lateano Trio with Peter Barshay and Ben Stolorow on the 3rd Sundays, the Seducers with Joe Goldmark (The Ten Gallon Cats), Mitch Polzak (The Royal Deuces), Hank Maninger (The Jukebox Charlies) and Kenny (the Haiku Cowboy) on the 2nd Sundays in the odd-numbered months, plus jam sessions on the last Sunday of the month and most first Sundays… Poetry on the first Thursday of every month, with an open mic… Walker Talks once a month… like that…
