Heshima Mark Williams presents The Ways & Means Committee, a tight quintet that delves deep into a book of straight-ahead jazz influenced by Herbie Hancock, Jerry Gonzalez, Buster Williams, and Fort Apache Band.
For their Bird & Beckett date, this “boppish collective” comprises Dr. Gary Bean, cornet; Dr. David Ferrazares, tenor sax; Art Khu, piano; Heshima, bass; and Ele Howell, drums.
Our events are put on under the umbrella of the nonprofit Bird & Beckett Cultural Legacy Project (the "BBCLP"). That's how we fund our ambitious schedule of 300 or so concerts and literary events every year.
