POETS! Rockpile

Rockpile Revisited

Sunday, January 30, at 2:00 pm, the poets’ roadshow known as Rockpile rolls into Bird & Beckett.  David Meltzer and Michael Rothenberg spent several months crisscrossing the country in 2009 with numerous forays out in 2010, converging with poets and musicians in a couple dozen localities, making art from their moment-to-moment experiences.

Now, close to home for both of them, they’ll be joined by bluesy piano player Bob Malone from L.A. and San Francisco players Paul Olguin (bass) and Paul Revelli (drums) to rattle off some fresh work.  Come down and see what happens.  Meltzer has been a key poet, musician and scholar  in the beat and post-beat poetry world for 60 years already, and Rothenberg has edited major poet’s collections (Whalen, Meltzer, Kyger and more) as well as the online literary magazine Big Bridge.
