But nothing beats being in the room
with the music & the musicians!

Saturday, April 18th – 7:30-10pm
Live streamed jazz from Bird & Beckett
Andrew Stephens (trumpet) and Dexter Williams (bass)
trad to swing to bop

Co-housed musicians Stephens & Williams presented three sets of trad, swing & bop jazz your listening pleasure — straight from your living room away from home, Bird & Beckett, down on Chenery Street in San Francisco’s lovely Glen Park neighborhood.

No audiences are allowed in the shop these days, just the musicians and the proprietor, but thousands of you can listen & watch from home. If you do, and you’re not squeezing every dime, donate so that we can pay these musicians in a time when paying gigs are hard to come by!

If you’re “on facebook” you can stream the performance live from our Bird & Beckett facebook page (click  on the “videos” tab, and when the time comes there will be a little red rectangle that says “live” — always good advice!)

If you’re facebook-adverse, you can still visit the same spot and watch it after it’s been recorded and posted… we anticipate the 1st set will be posted by 9pm Friday and that the 2nd set will be up shortly after the evening’s 10pm finish.  Perfect for you hip night owls!

We’ve passed the 1,000 subscribers mark for our youtube channel that allows us to do our live streaming from there — either instead of or in addition to facebook, but we’re still waiting for the go-ahead from youtube to do that. While waiting, we’ll still stream from facebook.

We’ll be working on gussying up the videos on youtube over time, ’til it’s a neat and growing little catalog of wonderful performances. Subscribe now to our youtube channel to help us get this music out, and pardon our construction dust!

Thanks for your support in these trying times, and for enjoying the cultural riches that Bird & Beckett is lucky enough to channel to you. whether by hook or by crook!

Need a book? Send us an email at [email protected]. We’ll fix you up!

Here’s the first set, for your pleasure (you can find sets 2 and 3 on our facebook page):
