With this concert, the Albatross Clarinet Quartet will present an array of new music, much of it recently conceived and arranged. Bebop to polytonal funk, musical commentary on classical pieces from the late 19th century and some “free” improvisation. Everything is written by members of the quartet. Except what they steal to put to their good uses.
"It is in doubt and not in faith that the salvation of the world is to be found. Faith is a delusion and a snare: a pitfall, a prison. It intimidates the intellect. It makes of us a race of intellectual cowards; it changes but little if any our daily conduct toward each other. But doubt sets us free."
-- Job Harriman, 1902
